Durham Tai Chi DDA was founded by Laoshi (Teacher) Gabrael St. Clair. She began studying Tai Chi from 1998 with Magic Tortoise School and continued her study with Double Dragon Alliance in 2014. She shares the Old Style Yang form of Grandmaster Dong Bin passed down to Master Wang Ming Bo and Master Rose Oliver MBE.
Laoshi Gabe's students have formed a collaborative to continue to practice and pass on the Dong Bin Old Style Yang Long Form, Wu Style Push Hands Patterns, Xing Yi Saber, Qigong Routines and Staff.
Laoshi Gabe's experience with Taichi is extensive, though she focuses on passing on the Dong Bin lineage. She learned the Taichi styles of Chen 108 form, WuHao, Yang San Shou partner from, as well as weapons such as fan, stick, staff, straight sword, saber, and cane. She also teaches the Double Dragon approach to Qigong methods of BaDuanJin, YiJinJing, and WuQinXi. She returns to Shanghai and other locations to continue her studies with Master Rose Oliver and Master Wang Ming Bo. She has also competed at the Carolinas Association of Chinese Martial Arts tournaments, Kuoshu Federation tournaments, and is a registered refree and judge for those organizations.
